My Review:

Green Water Lullaby is a collection of short stories by author Lori Titus. Whether you love ghosts, werewolves, witches or just stories that tug on the heart-strings, there is something for everyone in this collection. Titles in this collection include French Doors, Brotherhood, Love and Other Disappointments, The Lengths to Which We Will Go, Spellbound and Green Water Lullaby. French Doors is the story of Michelle, a girl who wants revenge and of Samora, who helps her get it. Brotherhood struck close to home for me since the fictional town of Chrysalis is set near Columbia, South Carolina where I happen to take up residence. Twin brothers Andrew and Cameron not only share identical looks but an attack that not only brings them together but sets them apart. Love and Other Disappointments is the ghostly telling of a guilt ridden author who must make amends for past events. The Lengths to Which We Will Go is the chilling tale of how some people will go above and beyond to preserve family traditions. This story is written well but I didn’t feel as strong of connection to it as I did the others. Spellbound teaches about natural abilities and how doing what you’re told will sometimes save your life. And last, but not least, is the story where this collection derives it’s title, Green Water Lullaby. This story is packed with emotion and even though I knew what was going to happen, it is one of those stories that fills you with hope while breaking your heart simultaneously. I highly recommend this collection of short stories to anyone who enjoys their paranormal stories full of well written characters and bittersweet endings.
