Today I am super excited to be the next host on Sheila Hendrix’s book tour! Please take a few moments to read the interview with Ms. Hendrix and learn more about her book, The Betrayal. But first, let me introduce this amazing author!

About the Author:

Sheila Hendrix is a native of Alabama and resides there with her husband of sixteen years. She has no children except for her nine dogs. She is the author of the Young Adult series, The Dark Circle. She also does reviews for two magazines. Writing has always been a dream of hers. She is a nurse at a psychiatric hospital and a youth correctional facility. She is currently working on other books in the McCannon brothers series.

~*~*~*~*~

Without giving too much away, can you tell us what The Betrayal is all about?

The Betrayal is about two brothers who hunt the supernatural. Zack is eighteen and because their parents left them when they were little, had to raise his little brother, Matt, who is seventeen. It’s not an easy task because Matt has powers and because of that something is always after him. They want his powers. When Matt has a dream that leads the brothers to a cave they find out the dream was a trap. Evil lives in the cave and has been after Matt since he was a baby. This Evil hates Zack because Zack was always able to protect Matt. Now the evil wants them both. The Betrayal is about love, family, sacrifice. It’s the story of how one brother will do whatever it takes to save his brother, even if that means dying for him.

How long did it take you to write The Betrayal?

It took me about a year. It’s my baby. LOL!

What was your inspiration to write this book?

I wanted to tell a story about how I wish people would act toward their family. There is so much hatred in the world and it seems like people don’t care about each other so I wanted to write about love and sacrifice and how I feel families as well as friends should act toward one another. If there were more caring in the world, it would be a much brighter place. I’m also fascinated about the supernatural.

If you had to trade lives with someone for an entire week, who would you trade with and why? (Keep in mind that they would be living your life as well)

Oh wow, that’s a tough one. I’m not even sure I can answer that one.

What does the word success mean to you?

Success means doing something you love. It means to follow a dream no matter how many people think your foolish to do so, and making it work.

If you had to have one word or phrase written on your forehead for a day, what would it be?

Live with your eyes wide open.

What advice would you give to someone who wishes to become a published author someday?

Don’t let anybody stop you. If it’s a dream then work to make that dream a reality and don’t listen to people who tell you can’t. You can do anything you set your mind to. If it’s in your heart, make it happen.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

I love to read, travel, garden and hike. I feel naked if I don’t have a book with me at all times.

What do you think makes a good story?

Something that comes from the heart. Strong characters, strong plot, ect.

If you woke up in an alternate universe, what do you imagine it would be like?

I think it would look like here. God has made some beautiful places on this planet, but I think there would be no hate. People would love each other and go out of their way for a friend.
